The author becomes the advocate.For Sophie Mokhtari, writing China Girl has been a transformational journey, one where she had to relive her difficult past. She wrote this book (and will write many more) because she is committed to empowering women with the voice they need to stand up for themselves and one another, Sophie has been meeting with various women’s organizations to determine ways she can be a strong advocate for this cause. On June 24th, she attended a National Women’s Political Caucus (NWPC) of California meeting hosted by Daphna Ziman, a philanthropist, activist, and children’s advocate. Daphna created Children Uniting Nations, an organization created to help children who have been abused and/or neglected.
